Some ideas for plumbing upgrades

You’ve put it off for as long as you can stand. The time has come. Your bathroom needs a facelift. Need some ideas on where to start? Not to worry. Dauenhauer is here to help.

New Fixtures
It all starts here with the fixtures. Fixtures are an easy update that will instantly upgrade the look of your bathroom. Plus, with today’s technology, you can also get a boost of convenience, too. For starters, there's nothing more modern than responsive, sensor activated faucets. Not only do they look and feel modern to use, but by eliminating the need to touch the handle, you can also help prevent the spread of germs. Added bonus - they’re also surprisingly easy to install.

A low-flow toilet
The toilet uses more fresh water than any other appliance in the house. In many homes, it can account for as much as 40% of the fresh water used per year. In fact, an older model toilet can use up to an incredible 4 to 6 gallons per flush. By comparison, a low-flow model only uses 1.5 gallons. It goes without saying that this difference will add up to big savings over the year, as well as benefit the environment. Win, win.

A new sink
Don’t like the appearance of your current bathroom sink? We have an easy suggestion – change it. Thankfully, there’s an enormous variety of new types of sinks to use as a replacement, such as pedestal and vessel sinks. Work with Dauenhauer to find the type of sink design that will enhance the look of the bathroom, while also providing other benefits such as easy cleaning and additional storage or floor space.

A new shower
Do you have a bathtub-shower combination, but find that you don’t use the bathtub often enough to justify keeping it? Why not try changing things up by replacing your tub with a solo shower model. It will make your bathroom more stylish looking and will save a huge amount of space.

Modern Appliances
No one wants to think about replacing an old water heater, washing machine or dishwasher, but if it’s old then there is a good possibility that it is also inefficient. Throw in the fact that it probably looks out of date, too – it’s time for an upgrade. New appliances are designed for better water conservation and energy efficiency. Plus, new appliances add value to your home and buyers expect them if you decide to sell your home.
