Winterizing your outdoor faucets

It’s that time of year again, friends! Time to start winterizing your home’s plumbing system. Since it’s a big job (and because you’ve probably got a lot going on this time of year), we’re going to break it down a little. First, we’re going to tell you how to winterize your outdoor faucets. Then we’re going to share tips for winterizing your indoor fixtures. Last, we’re going to tell you how to winterize your home before going out of town.
First up, winterizing your outdoor faucet. You’ll need to install a frost proof hose bib (sill cock) to your outdoor faucet:

- Disconnect outdoor hose before the first freeze
- Turn off the isolation shut off
- Turn on the outdoor faucet and drain it
- After a day, turn the faucet back off
